Anna Catherine Turvey (born February 5, 1980 in Newcastle upon Tyne ) is a British cyclist who competes for Ireland.

Athletic career

In 2013 Anna Turvey, who until then was mainly active as a triathlete , was second in the national time trial championship over 25 miles of the RTTC , the British Association for Time Trials , and was eighth in the British championship. In November 2013, Turvey became a member of the Scottish Cycling Performance Program to prepare for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow . She qualified for the time trial on the road and the individual pursuit on the track . She finished ninth in the individual time trial and twelfth in the single pursuit.

In December 2015 Turvey decided to start for the Irish Cycling Association in the future. That was possible because her mother is Irish. In June 2016 she became the Irish time trial champion. In the autumn she took part in the European Railway Championships : in the single pursuit she won bronze, and in the team pursuit she finished eighth with Lydia Boylan , Lydia Gurley and Eileen Burns . In 2019 she became Irish runner-up in the individual time trial .
