The Kozawa Station ( Jap. 小沢駅 , Kozawa-eki ) is a train station on the Japanese island of Hokkaido . It is located in the Shiribeshi Sub-prefecture in the Kyōwa Township area .

description

Kozawa is a through station and former separation station on the Hakodate main line between Hakodate and Sapporo , Hokkaidō's main railway line . This is operated by the company JR Hokkaido . Regional trains run to Kutchan and Otaru every one to two hours . There is a bus stop nearby on the main road, where lines of the companies Hokkaidō Chūō Bus and Niseko Bus stop .

The station is on the outskirts of Kozawa and is oriented from the southeast to the northwest. It has two tracks, both of which are used for passenger traffic. These are located on a central platform that is connected to the station forecourt on the south side of the facility by a covered overpass; the reception building is slightly offset there . The third track on the house platform was removed.

history

The Hokkaidō Tetsudō railway company opened the section between Yamanichi and Kozawa on July 18, 1904. The station was then the terminus for almost three months. With the opening of the last missing section between Kozawa and Neppu on October 15, 1904, the Hakodate main line was completed. After the nationalization on July 1, 1907, the Railway Office (later the Railway Ministry ) was responsible.

A local company that Iwanaibashi tetsudō , took a horse-drawn at 14 March 1905 narrow-gauge railway in operation. It had a gauge of 762 mm and led from Kozawa to the port of Iwanai. After only seven years, it was shut down on May 11, 1911. The reason for this was the state's construction of the Iwanai Line , which runs largely parallel to it . It had the same gauge as the Hakodate main line, so that the reloading of goods could be omitted. It was opened on November 1, 1912.

For cost reasons, the Japanese State Railways stopped handling goods on March 1, 1982, and checked baggage on February 1, 1984. It also closed the Iwanai Line on July 1, 1985. As part of the privatization of the state railway, the station passed into the possession of the new company JR Hokkaido on April 1, 1987 . The station has not been staffed since 1992.
