The Kuromatsunai station ( Japanese 松 内 駅 , Kuromatsunai-eki ) is a train station on the Japanese island of Hokkaidō . It is located in Shiribeshi Sub-Prefecture, Kuromatsunai Township area .
description
Kuromatsunai is a through station and former separation station on the Hakodate main line between Hakodate and Sapporo , Hokkaidō's main railway line . This is operated by the company JR Hokkaido . Regional trains run five times a day to Kutchan and Oshamambe . A Niseko Bus line stops in front of the station .
The train station is on the western edge of the town and faces south to north. It has three tracks, all of which are used for passenger traffic. These are located on the main platform and on a central platform that is connected to the reception building on the east side of the facility by a covered overpass . To the west of the station there is a small depot for parking train service vehicles .
history
The railway company Hokkaidō Tetsudō opened the station on November 3, 1903, together with the section from Mori via Oshamambe to Neppu. After the nationalization on July 1, 1907, the Railway Office (later the Railway Ministry ) was responsible. A local private railway company, the Suttsu Tetsudō , took a branch line to Suttsu in operation on October 24, 1920. After severe flooding, rail traffic on this route had to be stopped on August 14, 1968 and replaced by a bus service; the final closure of the Suttsu line and the liquidation of the company followed on May 11, 1972.
For cost reasons, the Japanese State Railways stopped handling goods on March 1, 1982, and checked baggage on March 14, 1985. As part of the privatization of the state railway, the station passed into the possession of the new company JR Hokkaido on April 1, 1987 . The station has not been staffed since 2007.
