Anna Westner (born September 21, 1999 ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). She is the national spokeswoman for Linksjugend Solid and state spokeswoman for Linksjugend Solid Bayern.

Life

After graduating from the König-Karlmann-Gymnasium Altötting , Westner studied human medicine from 2018 to 2019 at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich . In 2019 she moved to Berlin and changed her subject. Since then she has been studying sociology with a subsidiary subject in politics and administration at the University of Potsdam . She is a scholarship holder of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation .

Westner works for the Berlin Regional Association of Friends of Nature and coordinates projects there.

She was a member of the archery squad of the Upper Bavaria shooting district and was, among other things, Bavarian runner-up in archery in 2016.

politics

In December 2017, Westner joined the Left and Left Youth Solid. In February 2018 she was elected as the state spokeswoman for the links youth Solid Bayern. In March 2019 she was re-elected as state spokesperson. At the federal congress of the Left Youth Solid in December 2019, Westner was elected as their federal spokeswoman.

She is the substitute delegate of the Bavarian State Association of the Left for the Federal Committee. As part of the left mentoring program, she was Stefan Liebich's mentee .

Positions

Her political focus is on feminism, anti-fascism, rural areas, drug policy and criticism of anti-Semitism. She supports sea rescue and speaks out against the tightening of the Police Task Act in Bavaria.

She calls for the deletion of §219a from the Criminal Code and a lifting of the special status of homeopathic medicines .

Westner calls for a significant expansion of local public transport and bus and train routes, especially in rural areas. In the long term, public transport should be free.

As part of youth and politics, she protested in the Bundestag in 2019 against the federal government's climate policy.
