The König-Karlmann-Gymnasium is a linguistic and scientific-technological high school in Altötting . It was founded in 1970 and is located at Kardinal-Wartenberg-Straße 30. It is named after the Carolingian king Karlmann .

history

In the 1960s, residents of Altötting demanded the establishment of a scientific, technological and linguistic grammar school. At that time there were only two state high schools in the Altötting district : the Kurfürst-Maximilian-Gymnasium Burghausen and the Aventinus-Gymnasium Burghausen . Several inquiries from the district to the Ministry of Culture in this matter were unsuccessful. So the district decided together with the incumbent District Administrator Seban Dönhuber to build the new grammar school itself. The founding director was Josef Egginger. In 1970 the first students took part in the lessons of the new grammar school, in 1979 the first high school graduates completed their school career. In 1985 the grammar school was named after the Carolingian king Karlmann and has been called the König-Karlmann-Gymnasium ever since. In the years 2002-2004 the main building was renovated. In the course of this work, two modern computer rooms for multimedia applications were created, Internet access was set up in all classrooms, and the school administration was networked. As part of the conversion to the eight-year high school G8 , the school received a cafeteria with kitchen, dining room and cafeteria, which was inaugurated at the beginning of the 2006/07 school year.
