Anna von Bussnang († October 24, 1404 in Zurich ) was the abbess of the Fraumünster monastery in Zurich from 1398 to 1404 and thus the mistress of the city.

Life

Anna von Bussnang came from the Thurgau barons von Bussnang , which is documented in the 12th and 15th centuries. The first document from her hand dates from February 5, 1398 and still bears the seal of her predecessor Beatrix von Wolhusen , who was still alive at the time. She was ordained abbess on August 8, 1398. At that time she lived in the convent with six sisters.

Anna von Bussnang renewed the customs and minting rights of Zurich. During her reign the important rights of the imperial bailiwick were transferred to the emerging city.
