Krystyna Kobylańska

Krystyna Kobylańska (born August 6, 1925 in Brest , † January 30, 2009 in Milanówek ) was a Polish musicologist.

Life

Kobylańska was sent to the Auschwitz extermination camp as a teenager , but she survived. After the liberation of Poland, she studied piano at the Warsaw Conservatory and musicology at the Warsaw University . From 1951 to 1966 she worked for the Polish Chopin Society and headed the Warsaw Chopin Museum . In 1966/67 she lived in Paris and continued her Chopin studies at the Center national de la recherche scientifique .

In addition to numerous articles, she published a catalog raisonné of Chopin's works (abbreviation: KK) and various editions of his correspondence.
