Annabel Pitcher

Annabel Pitcher (* 1982 in West Yorkshire ) is a British writer .

Life

Pitcher grew up in a small West Yorkshire village. She studied English literature at the University of Oxford . After graduating, she worked for a television production company, then worked in public relations and finally as an English teacher. With the publication of her first book, she gave up teaching, and now works full-time as a writer.

Her debut novel My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece was nominated for 25 prizes. Among other things, she received the Branford Boase Award and a Betty Trask Award from the Society of Authors . For her second book, Ketchup Clouds , she received the 2013 Waterstone's Children's Book Prize .

Pitcher is married.
