The Annakapelle in the Tyrolean municipality of Kössen is a Roman Catholic chapel on the street Außenerkapellen outside the village. According to § 2a of the Monument Protection Act, it is under monument protection ( list entry ). The chapel is St. Consecrated to Anna . It is privately owned.

history

The chapel was built by the Jäger family in 1725, and renovations were carried out in 1953 and 1995. More recently, the chapel has been owned by the Bradaczek family (1940-1952) and the Tyrolean regional health insurance fund (1952-2014). Since then, Martin Unterrainer has been the owner. A picture in the chapel reminds of a visit by Cardinal Ratzinger (later Pope Benedict XVI.) In 1996 to the Anna chapel .

Building

It is a two-bay baroque building with a roof turret , flat barrel and round apse . The roof is clapboard. The roof turret is covered and clad with shingles. The top is formed by a tower ball with a cross and a weathercock . In the west facade there is a barred niche with a carved figure of a Christ resting from the first half of the 18th century. The ceiling painting (signed R. Wörle ) inside shows Saints Anna and Maria surrounded by two angels. A memorial stone for Theodor Bradaczek from the former owner family can be seen in the wall of the apse.

Facility

The image of the classical two-pillar shrine - altar shows St. Anna with the child Maria (mother of Jesus) . A popular crucifix in the chancel and St. Votive pictures dedicated to Anna are also part of the facility.
