history

The Murmus consisted of the singers and guitarists Leisha Hailey and Heather Grody from 1991 , both of whom studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. Initially, the duo performed in clubs in Manhattan's East Village . In 1994 they signed a recording deal with MCA . The music video for the decoupled single "You Suck" was in two episodes of the popular MTV - animated series Beavis and Butthead shown whereupon it the US abolished the single on the rear ranks charts. In Norway, however, “You Suck” reached number one on the singles charts , and the album also made it into the charts for a few weeks. For the release of the second album "Pristine Smut", bassist Sheri Ozeki and drummer Sherri Solinger were added to the band, who also played on the last album "Blender" from 1998.

After the band broke up, Hailey and Grody played together in two other bands; from 2001 to 2005 without official publications in "Gush" and from 2005 in "Redcar". In 2007 the only album, “Can't be stopped”, was released.
