Leisha Hailey (born July 11, 1971 in Okinawa , Japan ) is an American actress and musician . In Germany, Hailey became known as the bisexual journalist Alice Pieszecki in the US television series The L Word .

Life

Hailey grew up in Bellevue, a suburb of Omaha , Nebraska , and attended Bellevue West High School there. After high school, she studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City , graduating in 1991. She started her career as a musician in the band The Murmurs and released several albums; At the same time she played supporting roles in several films. For a few years she was the partner of the musician kd Lang and since 2001 has been in a relationship and engaged to the fashion designer Nina Garduno. In 2001, Hailey and Grody changed the band name to Gush. Since January 2008 Hailey has formed the band Uh Huh Her together with Camila Gray . They released their first EP on July 27, I See Red . Hailey plays bass, guitar, keyboard and sings.
