The Catholic Church of St. Anne (Polish Kościół św. Anny ) in Warsaw is a Catholic St. Bernard Church on the Kraków suburb , the northernmost part of the Warsaw Royal Route .
history
The church was built with the Benedictine monastery belonging to it in 1454 in the Masovian brick Gothic style on the initiative of the Benedictines. The construction was largely financed by Anna Fiodorówna , who was also the founder. The church burned down several times in the 16th century. The steeple was added in 1578 in the Mannerist style. The classicist facade goes back to Chrystian Piotr Aigner , who redesigned the Rococo facade by Giacomo Fontana . In the Warsaw Uprising by the Wehrmacht initially burned the church after the war, was rebuilt.
Geographical location
The church is located south of Warsaw's old town, directly on Palace Square , where the promenade in Krakow suburb of Warsaw's Royal Route begins.
