Anne-Gine Goemans (* 1971 ) is a Dutch author and journalist .

Life

Anne-Gine Goemans grew up in the so-called Bollenstreek, the most famous tulip growing area in the Netherlands . She dealt with ethnic studies and studied at the School of Journalism in Utrecht , where she later also taught, and in Aix-en-Provence . As a freelance journalist, she writes for daily newspapers and magazines on topics such as cultural studies. Her first novel, Ziekzoekers , developed from a journalistic project about the cultural landscape of the tulip fields and the very own, colorful world of the »tulip nobility« , for which she received the prestigious Anton Wachter Prize in 2008 for the best literary debut. Her second novel Glijvlucht, which appeared in 2011, was nominated for the BNG Literature Prize and the Libris Literature Prize and was awarded the Dioraphte Prize 2012; it is currently being filmed in the Netherlands. The translation of Gleitflug will appear in Germany in October 2012 .

Anne-Gine Goemans lives with her husband and three children in Spaarndam , a village in North Holland .
