Anne Akiko Meyers (born May 15, 1970 in San Diego , California) is an American violinist .

The daughter of an American and a Japanese mother began to learn to play the violin at the age of four. She made her first orchestral appearance when she was seven years old with an orchestra from her hometown of San Diego. At the age of eleven she performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra , and when she was twelve under Zubin Mehta , she performed with the New York Philharmonic . In 1984 she studied with Josef Gingold at Indiana State University and in 1985 at New York's Juilliard School . She currently lives in Los Angeles .

Meyers owns two violins by the Cremonese master Antonio Stradivari , namely the Royal Spanish from 1730 and the ex-Molitor from 1697. The ex-Molitor, named after the French Count Gabriel Jean Joseph Molitor , was auctioned in 2010 for 3.6 million US dollars been. As a lifelong permanent loan, Meyers also plays the Guarneri ex- Vieuxtemps from 1741.
