Anne Easter Smith

Anne Easter Smith (* 1952 in Great Britain ) is a British author of historical novels whose home is in the USA.

Life

During her childhood she lived in England , Germany and Egypt , among others , as her father was a British colonel. When she was 24, she went to New York, wanted to stay two years and stayed permanently. She has lived in the USA for 35 years. Her interest in English history was piqued early on. She later began writing and published her first book, The Rose of England .

Her novels are set at the time of the Wars of the Roses , a time when the noble houses of York and Lancaster had arguments over their claim to the royal throne. In The Rose of England she portrays Richard III. in contrast to Shakespeare's famous play Richard III. sympathetic.

Anne Easter Smith is married and lives in Newburyport, Massachusetts .
