Anne Mireille Nzouankeu

Anne Mireille Nzouankeu is a Cameroonian journalist .

She works for the Cameroonian daily Le Jour and the British newspaper The Guardian and as a correspondent for the Dutch radio station Radio Nederland Wereldomroep . She also writes for various online journals.

Her report "Cameroun: la double vie des homosexuels" , in which she reported on the consequences of the criminalization and social exclusion of homosexual people in Cameroon, sparked a nationwide debate and aroused many hostile reactions. For her courage to bring this taboo topic to the public, she was awarded the Lorenzo Natali Prize by the European Commission in 2011 .

Nzouankeu lives in Yaoundé .
