Anne Steinlein

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anne Steinlein (born January 1973 ) is one of the “wild” painters on the French art scene. She studied at the École Supérieure d'Arts Graphiques ( Penninghen ) in Paris .

She describes herself as a paintre voyageuse , a traveling painter. On her travels from Svalbard to Morocco, from Iceland to Burkina Faso, she also developed her own, unmistakable painting style. Her pictures and sketches are full of emotion and love of life. In France she is one of the sought-after “newcomers” on the scene, in Germany she is still little known, most likely from the TV show Reiseskizzen on ARTE . Her DVDs for this show and her travel sketch books are sought-after collectibles and are sold out everywhere. She received an award at the 2001 Biennale du Carnet de voyage in Clermont-Ferrand for her pictures and sketches of Spitzbergen .
