Anneke Petersen alias Pustemackersche († 1610 in Hamburg ) was a German woman who was executed on charges of witchcraft .

Live and act

Anneke Petersen was imprisoned in the Hamburg Fronerei on charges of having committed a pact with the devil in accordance with Hamburg's city law of 1605 (IV, 2). The torture suffered in prison is believed to have caused her death. Although she had already died, the prosecutor and tax authority named Hans Lange insisted that Anneke Petersen's remains be cremated "for disgust and for example". The Lower Court of the City of Hamburg and the Hamburg Council followed this judgment on June 11, 1610.
