29-year-old Jennifer lives with her grandmother Margret in Neu Wulmstorf and dreams of social advancement. She works unskilled in a hairdressing salon that the quirky Dietmar runs with a strict hand after his husband Sandro killed himself; The owner is his bossy mother-in-law Edith.
