Annemarie Kesselring
Annemarie Kesselring (* 1942 in Bern ) is a Swiss nurse . She was the first Swiss professor for nursing science .
Career
Annemarie Kesselring received her diploma in 1964 as a nurse at the School of Nursing of the Lindenhof hospital in Berne. After several training courses as a nurse in surgical care and anesthesia care and as a nursing teacher at the nursing school in Zurich and Aarau, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of California in San Francisco in 1982 . 1984 followed the Master of Science in Nursing and 1990 the doctorate ( PhD ), also in San Francisco.
After her return to Switzerland, she initially worked from 1990 to 1991 as a teacher at the nursing school in Zurich and Aarau. From 1991 she was responsible for nursing research at the Swiss professional association of nursing women and nurses SBK . In 2000 she was appointed Associate Professor for Nursing Science at the Institute for Nursing Science at the University of Basel , to whose founding she played a key role.
Annemarie Kesselring retired in 2006.
