Erika Hiltbrunner
Erika Hiltbrunner (born December 21, 1962 in Langnau im Emmental ) is a Swiss botanist and professor at the University of Basel .
Life
Hiltbrunner studied biology at the University of Basel until 1990 and received his doctorate in botany between 1991 and 1997 under Christian Körner at the University of Basel . She works together with Ansgar Kahmen and Günter Hoch in the Physiological Plant Ecology (PPE) research group.

Hiltbrunner's main research areas are:

- Alpine biodiversity
- Global change
- Land use change
- Nitrogen cycle , atmospheric nitrogen deposition , nitrogen-induced changes in an ecosystem
- Bush encroachment in the Alps (especially green alder , Alnus viridis)
Hiltbrunner is the head of the alpine research station Alpfor on the Furka Pass .
