Annette Herzog

Annette Herzog (* 1960 in Ludwigsfelde near Potsdam ) is a German children's book author .

Annette Herzog is a trained interpreter and translator for English and Danish . After studying at the University of Greifswald , she worked as a translator in Berlin for several years . Herzog has lived in Copenhagen since 1991 , where she first worked in international organizations ( WHO and European Environment Agency ) and began writing part-time. She has been a full-time author since 2000 and publishes children's books in both German and Danish. Some of her books have also been implemented as radio plays , for example for the showhorn bear . Her book Flieger am Himmel with illustrations by Katrine Clante was nominated for the Danish Book Design Award 2009.

Although Annette Herzog had published 39 books in Danish to date, her application for Danish citizenship was rejected in 2020 because she could not provide proof of language proficiency - level 9th ​​grade.
