Annika Zimmermann (born March 29, 1989 in Darmstadt ) is a German television presenter and journalist .

Life

Annika Zimmermann completed her Abitur at the Schuldorf-Gymnasium in Seeheim-Jugenheim in 2008 . She then completed a voluntary ecological year (FÖJ) at the Wadden Sea Conservation Station, during which she did public relations work in the tourism industry on the island of Föhr .

Annika Zimmermann studied applied media economics at the Academy of German Media in Munich from 2009 to 2012 with a focus on sports journalism. She completed her studies with a Bachelor of Arts . From the second semester onwards, she worked as a freelancer in the sports department of SPORT1 . From 2013 to 2014 she worked as a moderator , reporter and editor at the online portal Spox.com . During the 2014 World Cup , she was asked by the DFB team and on the fan mile for this purpose.

Zimmermann has been working at ZDF since September 15, 2014 , replacing Jessy Wellmer as a sports reporter . In 2015 she was awarded the German Sports Journalist Award for Best Newcomer.

In addition to moderation and editing, Zimmermann is also used as a reporter at ZDF. For example, she reported on the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the European Football Championship in France, the Ironman Triathlon World Cup in Hawaii, the Tour de France and the World Cup in Russia.

In spring 2018, her book “Fit und Fröhlich” was published by Droemer Knaur . Together with the co-author and sports scientist Timo Kirchenberger, Zimmermann wrote a guide on the subject of fitness , nutrition and mindfulness in everyday life .

Private

Annika Zimmermann lives in Berlin . In addition to her work in television, she gives readings and moderates events.
