Anny Chantal Levasseur-Regourd (2015)

Anny Chantal Levasseur-Regourd (born April 16, 1945 ) is a French astronomer who is valued as an expert on comets in various committees at national, European and global level .

After she was responsible for the Optical Probe Experiment (OPE) as Principal Investigator of the CNRS at Giotto (probe) in 1986 , she is now in the spotlight again through the Rosetta mission .

She was a space candidate for ESA in 1977 .

In 2013 she became an officer of the Legion of Honor .

The asteroid (6170) Levasseur is named after her.
