(6170) Levasseur is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 5 April 1981 by the American astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station ( IAU code 688) of the Lowell Observatory in Coconino County was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the French astronomer Anny Chantal Levasseur-Regourd .
