Anomie was a French screamo band from Orléans . The band was active from 1994 to 1997.

history

The band consisted of four members: the singer Kathleen Simonneau, the bassist Gilles Auvinet, who was also active as a sound engineer at Ape Studio, the drummer Rémi Chaumet and the guitarist Johnny Vellaine. Gilles Auvinet, Rémi Chaumet and Johnny Vellaine played together in the band An-Att in 1999 . Gilles Auvinet and Kathleen Simonneau formed the band Escape in 2010 .

In 1997 the band released their two albums Anomie and MRTA Benefit . In addition to their solo releases, a split was released in 1995 with the band Peace Of Mind , followed in December 1995 by the Split Friendly Split Corporation with the band Peu Être . In 2001, four years after the band split up, the album Discography 1994-1997 was released. Anomie is represented on the 1996 compilation Food Not Bombs by Anima Records and on the 1998 compilation The 51 Comp .

style

The band's sound emerges from old-school hardcore and is characterized by screamo and emo violence . In France she had a great influence on the local scene.
