The attack in Jerusalem on January 8, 2017 killed four people and injured 17 others.
Sequence of events
The Palestinian assassin Fadi al-Qanbar, a resident of East Jerusalem, drove a truck into a group of Israeli soldiers in the Israeli- occupied eastern part of the city when they got off a bus.

Reactions
The Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas , which controls the Gaza Strip , said that al-Qanbar's act was "heroic" and called for further attacks to be carried out. The PFLP welcomed the act in a press release as "heroic action". The sister organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command described in a press release from the same day the "override" - as the wording was chosen - as beneficial. The Israeli government blamed the terrorist militia Islamic State for the attack.
