Anselm Kühl (born August 24, 1939 in Stettin ) is a German geologist .

Life

Kühl studied geology from 1957 to 1962 at the University of Rostock and the Bergakademie Freiberg . In 1962 he graduated as a geologist. After three years as an object and section geologist at VEB Geological Research and Exploration Schwerin in iron ore exploration and depth mapping, he worked for 19 years as a non-party main geologist at VVB Cement / Cement Combination Dessau from 1966 to 1984. The main focus of his work was the development of deposit management, mining technology and mountain surveying in the management of the combine and in the large and medium-sized enterprises of the branch of industry.

In this context, raw material prognoses, material-economic studies, scientific-technical concepts for the development of new opencast mines, complex-geoscientific work on the exploration of deposits of carbonate, sulphate and silicate raw materials, coordination, control and evaluation of mining, i.e. H. Extraction, extraction and processing technology as well as cement chemical investigations for investment projects in the cement, lime, gypsum, chalk, mineral wool industries as well as exploration and regular operation of large and medium-sized opencast mines in the Harz, Eichsfeld, Wildenfelser Zwischengebirge, Western Pomerania and south-west Thuringia .

He was responsible for raw material extraction and preparation for extensive research work at the Bergakademie Freiberg (Geotechnical and Mining Section) as well as process and silicate technology at the Weimar University of Architecture and Construction (Building Material Process Engineering Section) and at the Institute for Cement in Dessau as co- Supervisor of 30 theses.

In 1974 he completed postgraduate training as a specialist engineer for mining systems at the Bergakademie Freiberg. In 1981 he obtained his doctorate in marrow sheath studies (external) with the dissertation “Mathematical modeling of the chalk limestone / siliceous chalk deposit Löcknitz” and in 1991 he completed his habilitation with the subject “Mathematical modeling of sedimentary deposits” at the Freiberg Mining Academy. Since 1995 he has been a private lecturer at the Institute for Geology at the Bergakademie Freiberg u. a. with the teaching areas of univariate, multivariate and multidimensional statistics as well as geostatistics, deposit modeling, raw materials for the silicate industry and geology for mine excavators, geotechnicians and miners. Since 2007 he has been a lecturer in the Studium Generale (“The time in understanding the natural sciences”).

Kühl was a member of the Central Working Groups of the Research Council of the GDR "Geotechnics and Mining" and "Maximum Use of Domestic Raw Materials" and received several scientific awards. a. 1989 the golden badge of honor of the mining science society of the GDR (chamber of technology), several medals of honor from the Czechoslovak engineering organization IAMG (mining pribram in science and technology) and 1990 the Abraham-Gottlob-Werner badge of honor of the society for geological sciences. He is the author of more than 130 scientific articles and books.
