Ansgar Thim

Ansgar Thim (born June 15, 1957 in Krakow am See ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and vicar general of the Archdiocese of Hamburg .

Life

Ansgar Thim studied Catholic theology at the Erfurt seminary and was ordained a priest in Schwerin in 1987 . After years of chaplaincy in Wismar and Schwerin, he became a youth pastor for Mecklenburg and in 1998 pastor in Hamburg-Niendorf .

From 2008 to 2013 he was HR officer for the Archdiocese of Hamburg. Archbishop Werner Thissen appointed him Cathedral Capitular in 2009 and Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Hamburg in 2013 . After Thissen's resignation, Thim was diocesan administrator from March 2014 until the episcopal ordination of the new Archbishop Stefan Heße on March 14, 2015 . On the same day he was reappointed Vicar General by Archbishop Heße.
