Aichholz residence

The Aichholz residence is a protected architectural monument near Völlan , a fraction of the market town of Lana in South Tyrol .

history

The current building dates from the beginning of the 17th century. The Ansitz Aichholz was once predicate imaging seat of knightly family Miller of Aichholz . Before 1669 the farm belonged to the Prunner family. Johann Miller married the heiress of Aichholz, Anna Prunner, in 1669 and thus brought the property into the Miller family. In 1691 Miller and his brothers were raised to hereditary nobility by Emperor Leopold I with the title of Aichholz . Around 1700 the family moved to Cles in the Non Valley . Aichholz has been owned by farmers since the beginning of the 20th century.

The two-storey building has a stone-framed rectangular door and windows with grilles. At the height of the first floor remains of frescoes can be seen, on the second floor a double-arched window from around 1600. On the gable there are remains of corner square paintings . The first floor is equipped with a groin vaulted corridor. One room is decorated with a field ceiling . On the second floor there is a baroque room with an oven.
