Gerstburg residence
The Gerstburg residence in Bolzano is the seat of the South Tyrolean Administrative Court of Bolzano . It is located on Claudia-de-Medici-Straße and has been a listed building since 1951 .
The courtyard formerly known as "Zum Winkel" was acquired around 1488 by the Bolzano citizen Sigmund Gerstl ( "Sigmund Gerstl zu Gerstburg, burger in Botzenn" ) and raised to the status of the Gerstburg residence for him . The consecration of the attached chapel dates back to 1495. From 1603 to 1609, the then owner family of Giovanelli zu Gerstburg and Hörtenberg built the south-eastern part. In 1744 the gentlemen von Menz bought the residence. In the hall on the 2nd floor there are frescoes by Martin Knoller from this time ( entry of the rose-scattering aurora from which the night flees ).
