Ansor Kibrozashvili

Ansor Kibrozashvili (born October 25, 1939 , † November 28, 2008 ) was a Soviet judoka . He won two European titles.

Athletic career

At the European Championships in Essen in 1962 , titles were awarded according to Dan classes for the last time. Kibrozashvili won the 2nd Dan class ahead of the Italian Remo Venturelli . The following year, amateur European championships in the individual weight classes were held in Geneva . In the heavyweight division, the German Klaus Glahn won ahead of Kibrozashvili. 1965 took place in Madrid for the last time the amateur European championships . Kibrozashvili won the new light heavyweight division ahead of Frenchman Yves Reymond . In October 1965 at the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro , Kibrozashvili competed in the open class and won the silver medal behind Isao Inokuma .

At the European Championships in Luxembourg in 1966 , Kibrozashvili won a bronze medal in the light heavyweight division. In the following year at the European Championships in Rome he fought in the heavyweight division and won the silver medal behind the Dutchman Willem Ruska . Two years later, Kibrozashvili reached the final in the open class at the European Championships in 1969 in Ostend and lost again to Ruska. In October 1969 at the World Championships in Mexico City Kibrozashvili appeared in both heavyweight and open classes. In the heavyweight division, he was defeated in the main round to the Japanese Shūji Suma and in the consolation round to Klaus Glahn. In the open class he lost in the main round to the Japanese Masatoshi Shinomaki and in the consolation round to Willem Ruska.
