Antônio Carlos Konder Reis

Antônio Carlos Konder Reis (born December 16, 1924 in Itajaí , Santa Catarina ; † June 12, 2018 ibid) was a Brazilian politician .

Political career

Konder Reis, nephew of the ex-governor of Santa Catarina, Adolfo Konder (1884-1956), was initially a member of the União Democrática Nacional (UDN) in the first and second legislative assemblies of Santa Catarina ( Assembleia Legislativa de Santa Catarina ) from 1947 to 1951 and from 1951 to 1955. He then represented his home state of Santa Catarina in the Câmara dos Deputados during its 40th legislative period from 1955 to 1959 and again in the 51st legislative period from 1999 to 2003.

From 1975 to 1979 he was governor of the state of Santa Catarina. His successor (1979–1982) was his cousin Jorge Konder Bornhausen. Between 1994 and 1995 Antônio Carlos Konder Reis held the office of governor again.

In 1983 he was elected a member of the Academia Catarinense de Letras (Chair 22) in Florianópolis.
