Anta do Estanque

The Anta do Estanque is based on or integrated into a house wall in the north of the village of São Geraldo in the former municipality of Nossa Senhora do Bispo ( Montemor-o-Novo district ) in the Évora district in Portugal .

Anta is the Portuguese name for around 5000 megalithic systems that were built during the Neolithic in the west of the Iberian Peninsula by the successors of the cardial or imprint culture . Other popular terms such as arcas, orcas or lapas usually replace the term dolmen in Portugal .

Anta's little aisle room is behind the last house on the left at the end of the street. It was once a stable and is now a shed.

The Comenda da Igreja and the two Antas do Paço are nearby .

The Anta do Estanque is a listed building.
