Antej Farac

Antej Farac (also known as Tito Lee, * 1972 in Yugoslavia ) is a German interdisciplinary artist , film director , musician and DJ who lives in Switzerland .

Life

He attended the Film Academy in Sarajevo and the Art Academy (Department of Graphics & Design). In 1994 he moved to the University of Television and Film Munich , where he also completed his studies as a director. During his time in Munich he worked as a dramaturgic consultant and realized several film projects, worked as a director and editor for various music and commercials and produced over 200 trailers for cinema and TV productions. In addition to his film work, he is known as a DJ and musician under the name Tito Lee in the club scene.

Antej Farac is married and lives in Biel , Switzerland , where he co-founded the agency and film production company "el Patrol art + advertising GmbH" in 2006.

Works

His breakthrough as a director came with the film Annelie (2012), which was the first Swiss film to be shown in the competition at the largest Asian festival, the Busan International Film Festival , and was shown at the Locarno International Film Festival in 2013 after numerous other festivals around the world . The film Annelie is part of the multimedia total work of art "Hotel Annelie" about a run-down hotel in Munich that serves as a shelter for the homeless.

He received attention as an interdisciplinary artist with the project "Karpati Turist" (later "Electric Lounge Orchestra") where DJing is raised to a meta level in a multimedia installation with 33 turntables.
