Anthimos Koukouridis
Anthimos Koukouridis ( Greek Άνθιμος Κουκουρίδης , born January 2, 1962 in Alexandroupoli ), with the secular name Christos Koukouridis, is a Greek Orthodox clergyman and since 2004 Metropolitan of Alexandroupoli.
biography
Anthimos studied at the Pedagogical Academy Zarifeia in Alexandroupoli and the Theological Faculty of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki . On October 6, 1985 he was ordained a deacon by Metropolitan Anthimos Roussa of Alexandroupoli and renamed himself Anthimos. He was ordained a priest on October 29, 1989 and was appointed Chancellor of the Eparchy .
On October 6, 2004, Anthimos was elected Metropolitan of Alexandroupoli. He received the episcopal ordination on October 9, 2004 by Archbishop Christodoulos of Athens, on November 5 of the same year he was enthroned in Alexandroupoli.
