Antonie Berl

Antonie Berl (born February 6, 1839 in Leipzig , † March 20, 1906 in Darmstadt ) was a German theater actress .

Life

Berl, the daughter of a railway official, wanted to devote himself to singing first and therefore attended the conservatory in her hometown and then the Franziska Cornet singing school in Hamburg. There you discover her acting talent and she is determined to turn to the dramatic art. She entered the stage at the Altona City Theater for the first time. After she had tried herself there in several small singing roles such as "Second Lady" in "Magic Flute", "Lise" in "Engagement by Laternenschein", "Angelina" in "Wasserträger", she was hired for this theater company. Then she came to Lübeck, from there to Kiel, where she made her debut as “ Philippine Welser ”, “Gretchen” and “Ophelia”, then to Frankfurt (she worked there for two years and found a proven teacher in Auguste Lauber-Versing ), then to the Viktoriatheater in Berlin, went from there to Königsberg, Munich and Darmstadt and was engaged there in October 1868 at the court theater. She was a member of this group for 30 years and left the stage on October 10, 1898. She then died in Darmstadt in 1906.
