Franziska Cornet

Franziska Cornet , née Franziska Kiel (born January 23, 1808 in Kassel , † August 7, 1870 in Braunschweig ) was a German opera singer ( soprano ) and singing teacher .

Life

As the daughter of the singer Friedrich Wilhelm Kiel (* 1777) and the actress Caroline Kiel b. Gaus (* 1779) she appeared for the first time at the age of seven on April 3, 1815 in Braunschweig in the play "Der verbrrannte Amor", as a singer for the first time at the age of 15. On June 21, 1825 she married the first tenor of the Braunschweig National Theater, Julius Cornet , six months later she went with him to the Hamburg City Theater and in 1832 she returned to Braunschweig, where she was engaged as a coloratura singer at the court theater . In 1839 the couple went back to Hamburg and on to Vienna and Berlin . After the death of her husband in 1860, Franziska Cornet stepped down from the stage and settled in Braunschweig as a singing teacher.

Adele Passy-Cornet was her daughter, her child was Anna Prasch-Passy , her granddaughter, and Anna's children Anton Passy-Cornet and Josef Passy-Cornet were their great-grandchildren.
