Anthony Koski

Anthony "Tony" Koski (born June 26, 1946 ) is a former American basketball player who was active as a wing and inside player for MTV 1846 Giessen  in the basketball league  .

career

The eight-foot-tall Koski played at Becker College in Massachusetts and Providence College ( Rhode Island ) during his university career .

In the 1968/69 season Koski was first with the New York Nets in the American Basketball Association (ABA) under contract. After completing five matches, he moved to the Hartford Capitols during the season, which initially competed in the EPBL league and later in the EBA.

For the 1972/73 season Koski was obliged by the German Bundesliga club MTV 1846 Giessen and became the first professional basketball player to be under contract with the club. He reached the runner-up in his first season with Mittelhessen (and scored 18.2 points per game) and won the DBB Cup . In 1973/74 he was eliminated with Giessen in the semi-finals of the German championship against the eventual title winner SSV Hagen . After two years Koski left MTV first, followed by a stop at Nice BC in France, before he briefly played again for Giessen during the 1978/79 season.
