Anthony Okao (born April 21, 1998 in Göttingen ) is a German basketball player . He is currently in the roster of the Central German BC .

Player career

Okao, who comes from the Lower Saxon basketball stronghold of Göttingen, played in the youth department of ASC 1846 Göttingen and for the cooperation team BBT Göttingen in the youth basketball league . He gained his first experience in the men's area at ASC in the regional league. In 2016 he moved to the Munich club MTSV Schwabing , for whose men's team he scored an average of 6.3 points in 22 regional league appearances in the 2016/17 season. He also played in the NBBL team of the International Basketball Academy Munich (IBAM), in which the MTSV is involved. With IBAM, Okao became German runner-up in the U19 age group in spring 2017.

For the 2017/18 season, Okao moved to the Gießen 46ers in the basketball league . Shortly before Christmas 2017, he was used for the first time in an encounter in the top German division, while he mainly played in the second team of Mittelhessen in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . At the end of June 2018, Okao and the Giesseners split up. He was then committed by the dukes of Wolfenbüttel (2nd Bundesliga ProB). He played 20 games for the Dukes in the 2018/19 game year and scored an average of 6.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per match, but missed the team to stay in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB. In the summer break of 2019 he was brought in by the Bundesliga club Mitteldeutscher BC and received a double license for games with BG Bitterfeld-Sandersdorf-Wolfen 06 (2nd Bundesliga ProB).
