Anthony Powell (production designer)

Anthony Powell (born April 21, 1943 in the United Kingdom ) is a British graphic artist , set designer and television presenter who is active in Germany.

Life

Powell received his professional training at an art academy and began working as a graphic designer. From 1968 to 1970 he ran a graphic design studio with his German colleague Toni Lüdi . In this role, Powell also designed two record covers for Eberhard Schoeners, for example . Later both worked on numerous entertainment programs with show character such as "Info-Show", "Hermann van Veen" and "Clown & Co."

Employed by Bayerischer Rundfunk from the outset , the Munich-based Bavarian by choice designed a wealth of entertainment programs, almost all of them with show character. The more than 500 (as of: 1994) programs that Powell has set-up include: a. "Bocuse à la carte", "The Michael Schanze-Show", "Grand Prix de la Chanson", "Showbühne", "MIDEM Classical Award", "Mich laust der Affe", "Sternstunden-Gala 2011 " and the evening program Classic " heart leaf " . In the programs " Szene " and "Pop Stop" , moderated by Thomas Gottschalk from 1976 , Powell was assigned to him from 1977 to 1981 as co-moderator and was supposed to make people laugh with his clown and pantomime interludes. In addition, he later had short guest appearances in the two films Die Supernasen and Zwei Nasen super with Gottschalk in the leading role.
