Antichamber

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Antichamber is a computer game programmed by Alexander Bruce . The game, which takes place in the first person view, belongs to the genre of adventure games , but also contains elements of puzzle games .

action

At first, the player finds himself in a dark room to which one can always teleport. In this, game settings can be made and a map can be found, with the help of which rooms in the game world can be entered immediately. The exploration of the game world is considered to be the content of the game, for which it is necessary to solve various puzzles. The world leaves certain physical laws and shows, for example, impossible figures , and it can also change depending on the direction of the gaze and movement of the player. For example, different places can be reached via the same paths. At a certain point in the game you get a tool reminiscent of a cannon, with which certain blocks can be sucked up and spit out again. Functions will be added to this tool later.

Development history

While Alexander Bruce tried to reproduce games like Snake in the Unreal Engine in 2006 , he found ways to manipulate the geometry through programming errors . From then on Bruce tried to create a game based on this. This was presented for the first time at the Tokyo Game Show in 2009 and was called "Hazard: The Journey Of Live", although it was still a mod for Unreal Tournament 3 at the time . In July 2011 the game was renamed "Antichamber" and finally released on January 31, 2013.
