Anto Đapić

Anto Đapić (born August 22, 1958 in Čaprazije ) is a Croatian right-wing politician and honorary chairman of the Croatian Party of Law (HSP) .

Đapić was born in Čaprazije, near Livno in western Bosnia . His father and grandfather went to Germany as guest workers in 1962 . His mother died in a car accident when he was a teenager.

He achieved his first political successes in 1991 when he merged the HSP with the GTTZ .

During the Croatian War he was for a short time a commander of the HOS ( Hrvatske obrambene snage , Croatian Defense Forces). In May 2001 he became mayor of Osijek with 43.01 percent of the vote , which he remained until 2009.
