Antoine-François Peyre

Antoine-François Peyre ( April 5, 1739 - February 7, 1823 ), called Peyre le jeune (Peyre the Younger) or Antoine-François Peyre II was a French architect and interior designer . His brother Marie-Joseph Peyre (1730–1785) is called Peyre the Elder.

Teaching

Peyre taught at the Académie royale d'architecture in Paris. His students included: Charles Percier , Pierre-François-Léonard Fontaine , Antoine Vaudoyer and Louis-Pierre Baltard .

Architecture and decor:

  • 1775–1776: Electoral Palace Mainz , city wing, academy hall
  • 1800–1802: Electoral Palace (Koblenz) , the palace in its current appearance goes back to Peyre.
  • Construction of the Koblenzer Neustadt from 1786; The draft and general plan date back to 1783. The castle is already shown in a reduced form.
  • The interior design of the Palais de la Légion d'honneur comes from Antoine-Francois Peyre (redesign).
