Antonín Čížek

Antonín Čížek (born October 11, 1865 in Prague ; † June 3, 1897 there ) was a Czech politician.

Life

His father was an early member of the Patriots and was a member of the Young Bohemian Party ( Mladočeská strana ). After his untimely death Čížek lived with the editor of the People's Daily ( Národní listy ) Karel Tůma . After graduating from Prague University with a law degree , he worked as the secretary of the MPs of the Young Bohemian Party.

He was able to escape the mass imprisonment in 1893. He then campaigned for young people who had been persecuted and detained by the government. In December 1883, however, he was also arrested on suspicion of participating in the murder of R. Mrva . He was not acquitted again until the trial in March 1894. In 1897 he was still involved in the founding of another radical party, but his untimely death ended his political career.

Čížek is said to have been a handsome, young, humorous man, burning for public and political recognition. He was a good journalist and organizer who could quickly win over his audience by conveying his understandable thoughts.

After leaving the party in 1894, he turned to trading. Together with A Hajný , he published the book Proces s tzv in 1894. Omladinou .
