Antonín Maleček

Antonín Maleček ( 1909 - September 14, 1964 ) was a Czech table tennis player . He became world champion with the Czech team in 1932.

From 1926 to 1936 Maleček was nominated seven times for world championships . He achieved his greatest successes in the team competition. In 1932 he won gold with the Czech team. In 1930 he was third with the team, in 1931 second. In mixed he reached the quarterfinals with Marie Kettnerová in 1932 . Furthermore, Maleček won the international German championships in 1928/29 in singles, in mixed with Marie Šmídová-Masaková he came second. At the English championships in April 1930 he defeated the reigning world champion Fred Perry and won the final against Charles Bull .

Maleček was a defender. He was a member of the Imperial Ping Pong Club in Prague.
