Anton Adelssen

Anton Adelssen (born December 18, 1824 as Anton Cohn , † June 29, 1898 in Berlin ) was a Prussian banker and co-founder of Deutsche Bank .

Life

Adelssen comes from the Cohn family . He married the daughter Anna of the Prussian Jewish consul Jacob Adelson and the Russian court councilor in Königsberg, who had married the rabbi's daughter Fanny Loewenstam and was baptized with her as a Christian. His brother-in-law Jacob Adelson, who lived as an insurance millionaire at Kurfürstendamm 6, set up a foundation in Berlin to honor his parents' name. The married couple Anton and Anna took the family name Adelssen . Adelssen ran the Adelssen bank in Berlin . He was appointed Royal Consul General in Greece. Adelssen is buried in the French cemetery in Berlin.
