Anton Viktor Barvitius
Anton Viktor Barvitius (born July 14, 1823 in Prague , Austrian Empire , † July 20, 1901 ibid), also called Antonín Barvitius , was a Bohemian architect of historicism .
Life
Barvitius attended the Art Academy in Prague. He worked on several construction projects together with the architect Vojtech Ignaz Ullmann . From 1855 to 1865 they carried out the reconstruction of the Palazzo Venezia in Rome as a residence for the Austrian ambassador and from 1871 to 1872 the construction of the Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof in Vienna.
His estate of graphics and ornamental engravings ended up in the graphics collection of the Prague Museum of Applied Arts .
Barvitius was the elder of two brothers. His younger brother Viktor Barvitius specialized in genre and horse painting.
