Anton Bebler
Anton Alex Bebler (born March 10, 1937 in Moscow ) is a Yugoslav or Slovenian political scientist . He is the son of Aleš Bebler (1907–1981, Yugoslav major general and politician).
Life
Anton Bebler was Professor of Political Science with a focus on military policy at the University of Ljubljana .
From 1992 to 1997 he was Slovenia's ambassador to the UN in Geneva. Since 1998 he has been president of the Združenje Evro-atlantski svet Slovenije (like the German Atlantic Society, a branch of the Atlantic Treaty Association ), which made propaganda for Slovenia's accession to NATO .
In the election for President of Slovenia in 2002, he ran as a candidate for the Democratic Pensioners Party of Slovenia , but only received 1.8% of the vote.
