Anton Eiser

Anton Eiser (born June 11, 1800 in Prague , Kingdom of Bohemia ; † November 6, 1876 ​​there ) was an Austrian flautist and composer.

Life

Anton Eiser was born in 1800 in Prague, the capital of the Kingdom of Bohemia. After he grew up here, after the kingdom was elevated to an Austrian crown land , he attended the Prague Conservatory from 1813 to 1819 , which was founded only a few years earlier. Here he was taught how to play the flute by Michael Janusch, among others . Shortly after graduating there, he appeared as a flute teacher himself, as evidenced by various records from this time. Subsequently he was first flutist at the Graz Theater Orchestra until 1832 , before returning to his hometown in 1833, where he was first flutist at the Estates Theater until 1860 . From 1843 he also held the position of a supervisor at the Estates Theater, and from 1846 the position of an adjunct director. In 1858 he was mentioned in this capacity at the Prague Conservatory. Nothing more is known about Eiser's later life. He lived in Prague's old town in 1846, house number 234. His pupils included Joseph Wenzeslaus Köhler , Ernesto Köhler's father , and Vilém Blodek .
